About Riftbound Tokens

A token is a card that is in no deck. It comes into play when another card says so: a spell that plays a Recruit, a unit that makes Gold when it enters, a Legend that conjures a Sprite. The token stands on the table like any card of its type and plays like one, and when it leaves play it is set aside rather than put in the trash, since there is no deck for it to go back to.

Not every token is a unit. Gold is a piece of gear that is killed to add a rune of energy, Baron Pit and Brush are battlefields that take the place of one in play, and Buff and the XP Tracker are markers that keep count of what a unit has gained rather than cards that are played at all.

The official card gallery lists 15 tokens from five sets: 4 in Origins, 1 in Spiritforged, 8 in Unleashed, 1 in Vendetta and 1 in Radiance so far. Recruit, Bird, Reflection and Sprite among the units, Bomb and Gold among the gear, Baron Pit and Brush among the battlefields and the markers Buff and XP Tracker. Origins numbers its tokens among the cards of the set; the sets since number them apart, T01 and up, the way the runes are numbered R01 to R06.

A booster pack ends with a token or a basic rune, so a token is never hard to come by. The list below shows every token, the newest set first, with the type each one plays as. Open a card for its text.
