Riot named The Reckoning back in August, and today the first boxes turned up: the two Champion Decks and the booster pack in its three sleeves. Here is what is known so far, and the one detail I keep coming back to.
- The Reckoning comes out on April 30, 2027, with Pre-Rift events the week before, 264 cards and nine new Legends.
- The Vayne Champion Deck plays Chaos and Order, the Shyvana deck Fury and Body. Both boxes and the three pack fronts were shown today.
- Vayne's only card is Fury, so her deck needs a brand new Vayne. That is the most interesting thing in the whole reveal.
- No prices yet. Every Champion Deck so far has been $19.99.
Seven sets in, the monsters wake up
The Reckoning is the seventh set of Riftbound and the second of 2027, out on April 30, 2027, with Pre-Rift events in stores from April 23 to 29. Riot's line is Awaken the Ancients, and the key art does the rest of the talking: a horned thing with glowing eyes over three champions who look very small on their rock. The set has 264 cards, 67 of them Showcase, and nine new Legends. Five have names: Aurelion Sol, Cho'Gath, Shyvana, Vayne and Zilean. Cho'Gath got the teaser poster, three of the others got the pack fronts, and Zilean has nothing yet beyond his name. The rules, the four unnamed Legends and the prices wait for the first State of the Game of 2027. See The Reckoning page for a full overview, constantly updated.

The Vayne deck cannot use Vayne, and that is the fun part
The boxes name the domains, which Riot's announcement never did. Vayne is Chaos and Order, Shyvana is Fury and Body. Now look at Vayne, Hunter, the only Vayne card in the game: she is Fury. A Legend's two domains decide what goes in the deck, so this Vayne cannot run her own Origins card. The Reckoning has to bring a new Vayne in Chaos or Order, and she will be in the box. If you were buying up Vayne, Hunter for a future Vayne deck, I would stop. Chaos and Order is also nearly untouched ground: of every Legend printed so far, only Kennen, Heart of the Tempest plays it. Shyvana has the easier start, since Renekton, Lucian, Rengar and Volibear have all led Fury and Body decks. Zilean's unit, Time Mage, is Mind, so his Legend is anyone's guess.

Three pack fronts and still no prices
The booster comes in three sleeves, Aurelion Sol, Shyvana and Vayne, and each Champion Deck box holds one booster of the set. A booster display, a Vault Bundle and a Pre-Rift kit are on Riot's list but not pictured. Prices are not out. Every Champion Deck so far has been $19.99 and the Legacy display is $120, so I would expect the same and treat any pre-order price above that as the shop's guess. Every product has its own page in the products guide, and the decks will carry their lists the day Riot publishes them.
