Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game is played in thousands of local game stores, and finding a game near you takes three steps. You find the stores around you that run official events, you pick an event that suits you, and you sign up for it with a Riot account. The event finder on this site does the first two steps, and every event in it has a button that leads to its registration page on playriftbound.com, Riot's own Riftbound site.
Most stores hold their weekly event on a fixed day and at a fixed time. One search is usually enough to learn where and when you can play every week.
How do you search for events near a place?
Open the event finder, type a city or a place and press Find, or press Near me to let your browser tell the finder where you are. The finder then lists the events within 50 kilometers, about 31 miles, of that place over the next 30 days, the soonest first. You can pick a smaller or a larger circle, from 10 up to 250 kilometers or from 10 up to 150 miles, switch between kilometers and miles, or show every event in the whole country.
Every country with Riftbound events also has a page of its own, such as the page of Riftbound events in France or the page of Riftbound events in the United States. A country page also lists the cities with the most stores. Start times are always given in the store's own local time, so an event in another time zone shows the time on the store's clock.
How do you narrow the list down to the right event?
The filters beside the list narrow it down by kind of event, format, day, time and entry fee. Under Kind of event you can pick Nexus Night, Pre-Rift, Summoner Skirmish, Learn to Play or Open Play. Under Format you pick Constructed, where every player brings a deck of their own, Sealed, where every player builds a deck from packs opened at the event, or Draft, where every player picks cards one at a time from packs that pass around the table. You can also keep only some days of the week, the morning, the afternoon or the evening, and free or paid events. The search box finds an event, a store or a city by its name.
The Seats filter saves the most time. Hide full events removes the events without a free seat, and Hide empty events keeps only the events that someone has already signed up for. Almost full and Filling up show the events whose seats are going fast. The list can be sorted by date, distance, seats left, entry fee or newest, and the Map button shows the stores on a map.
A new player who is free on weekday evenings could pick Nexus Night, Constructed and Evening, set the circle to 25 kilometers, about 16 miles, and see which stores nearby play on which night. In the Pre-Rift week of a new set, such as the Radiance Pre-Rift week with its events from 16 to 22 October 2026, picking Pre-Rift and hiding the full events shows the stores that still have a seat.
What does an event in the finder tell you?
Each event in the list shows its day and start time, its kind and format, the store with its town, its distance when you searched near a place, how many seats are taken out of how many, and the entry fee. A label marks the events that are full, that have only a few seats left, that gained players since the day before, or that were added in the last two days.
The Details button opens the page of the event. That page holds the description the store wrote, which can say what players get, what to bring or how the prizes work. Where the store has set them, it also gives the number of rounds, whether matches are best of one or best of three, and when registration opens and closes. The page has the store's address and contact details, an Add to calendar button and a Location button that opens the store in Google Maps.
Every store has a page of its own as well, with all of its coming events. When a store plays on a fixed day, its page says so, for example a Nexus Night on Tuesday at 19:00. That is the page to keep once you have found a store you like.
How do you sign up for a Riftbound event?
You sign up on playriftbound.com with a Riot account. The Register button of an event leads to its page on Riot's site, where you sign in with your Riot account and register for the event. The event search there has a My Events tab beside Find an Event, and a box that shows only the events of the stores you have favorited.
A Riot account is free, and it is the same account that players of League of Legends use, so many players already have one. Make the account before you need it, because popular events can fill up well before the day. If your plans change after you have signed up, let the store know, so that your seat can go to another player.
Signing up early matters most for Pre-Rift events, where every player receives a kit and a store can seat only as many players as it has kits.
The store locator of UVS Games, the company that makes Riftbound, is still online as an older way to look for stores. Its notice for Radiance events sends players to playriftbound.com, so that is the place to register.
What can you do when no event is near you?
Widen the search first. Set the largest circle, 250 kilometers or 150 miles, or show the whole country, and pick Everything under When, because the next 30 days do not show the events that stores have already planned further ahead. A Pre-Rift or a Summoner Skirmish an hour away can be worth the trip a few times a year, even if you play your weekly games at home.
If no store near you runs Riftbound, ask a game store that runs other card games. A store that wants to host official Riftbound events registers with the Riftbound Gaming Network, the platform where stores schedule their events. Until a store does, a game at home with a friend needs only a deck for each player and follows the same rules as a game in a store.
How do you find the larger Riftbound tournaments?
The larger tournaments are not store events, so you find them in a different place. The major events page gives the dates of the tournaments Riot has announced, such as the European Regional Championship in Stuttgart from 6 to 8 November 2026, together with the Pre-Rift weeks and the Summoner Skirmish windows in which stores hold those events. The Showdown Series is a run of open tournaments held by partnered event organizers, and Riot's list of upcoming official events links to the page of each organizer for the details of entry.
Riot's plans for 2027 change the store tournaments. Summoner Skirmish continues through the Radiance season, and from 2027 the Riftbound Challenge Series is to take its place at a curated network of stores, so the nearest one may be farther away than your weekly game. A monthly local tournament called the Nexus Cup is added as well. The Challenge Series becomes the first step of Riot's ladder of competitive Riftbound tournaments, and the Nexus Cup stays outside that ladder.
Once you have found an event, a Nexus Night is the easiest one to start with, because it is a casual weekly event that anyone may join. What to bring to your first Riftbound event depends on its format: a deck of your own at a Constructed event, and little more than sleeves and a pen at a Sealed event, where the store hands out the cards.
