Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game is built around the champions of League of Legends. A champion is in Riftbound once there is a champion unit of them, a unit that reads Champion Unit on its type line and carries the champion's name, such as Jinx, Demolitionist. Many champions also have a Legend, the card a whole deck is built around, and signature cards that only a deck led by that Legend may play.
Not every champion arrived at once, and each set of Riftbound brings new ones into the game. This article counts who is in the game up to Radiance, the fifth main set, with its release on 23 October 2026, and who Riot has named for the sets after it.
How many League of Legends champions are in Riftbound?
Counting Radiance, 104 League of Legends champions have at least one card in Riftbound. League itself has more than 170 champions, so about three in five of them have made it into the card game so far.
Origins, the first set, brought the most champions at once, and every set after it adds new ones. The table counts the champions that each set adds to Riftbound for the first time, and the Legends it adds. Proving Grounds, the starter box that came out together with Origins, brought four champions of its own: Annie, Master Yi, Lux and Garen.
| Set | Champions new to Riftbound | New Legends |
|---|---|---|
| Origins | 36 | 12 |
| Proving Grounds | 4 | 4 |
| Spiritforged | 22 | 12 |
| Unleashed | 20 | 12 |
| Vendetta | 13 | 9 |
| Radiance | 9 | 9 |
| Total | 104 | 58 |
The 58 Legends belong to 57 champions, because Master Yi is the one champion with two of them: Wuju Bladesman from Proving Grounds and Wuju Master from Unleashed. That leaves 47 champions who are in the game with champion units only.
Which champions have a Legend?
The 57 champions with a Legend are the ones you can build a deck around. Each Legend arrives together with new champion units of its champion and at least one signature card, so these champions have the most cards of all. A few from each set show the range.
- Origins has twelve Legends, among them Jinx, Ahri, Yasuo, Lee Sin, Teemo and Viktor.
- Proving Grounds has four, one for each of its decks: Annie, Master Yi, Lux and Garen.
- Spiritforged has twelve, among them Ezreal, Irelia, Azir and Rumble.
- Unleashed has twelve, among them Jhin, Pyke, Diana and LeBlanc.
- Vendetta has nine, among them Zed, Akali, Ambessa and Mel.
- Radiance has nine, among them Seraphine, Ekko, Jarvan IV and Evelynn.
Five of these Legends are Loose Cannon of Jinx, Unforgiven of Yasuo, Prodigal Explorer of Ezreal, Master of Shadows of Zed and Exemplar of Demacia of Jarvan IV.
A Legend sets the two domains of its deck, and one champion unit of the same champion starts the game beside it as the chosen champion. Some of these champions also come as a ready-made deck, such as the Champion Decks of Jinx, Viktor and Lee Sin from Origins, and the products page lists every one of them.
Which champions are in Riftbound without a Legend?
The other 47 champions have champion units but no Legend so far. Their cards still see play. A champion unit goes into any deck whose domains it fits, up to three copies, but in Constructed it cannot be a deck's chosen champion, because no Legend carries its name. In Sealed and Draft the Tournament Rules are looser: any champion unit within the deck's domains may be its chosen champion there, even one that does not match the deck's Legend. Almost all of these champions have a single unit, and Heimerdinger is the only one with two: Heimerdinger, Inventor from Origins and Heimerdinger, Academy Instructor from Radiance.
Six of the champions without a Legend are below, from Origins to Radiance: Caitlyn, Patrolling, Twisted Fate, Gambler, Yone, Blademaster, Katarina, Reckless, Gangplank, Naval and Lulu, Whimsical.
Caitlyn, Patrolling
Twisted Fate, Gambler
Yone, Blademaster
Katarina, Reckless
Gangplank, Naval
Lulu, Whimsical
Can a champion get a Legend in a later set?
Yes. Every main set after Origins holds a Legend for at least one champion who was already in the game with a single champion unit, and each time the Legend comes with new champion units of that champion. Ten champions take that path up to Radiance, among them these four.
- Vi came in Origins as Vi, Destructive and got her Legend, Piltover Enforcer, in Unleashed.
- Jayce came in Spiritforged as Jayce, Man of Progress and got Defender of Tomorrow in Vendetta.
- Ekko came in Origins as Ekko, Recurrent and has the Legend Boy Who Shattered Time in Radiance.
- Riven came in Vendetta as Riven, Shattered and has the Legend The Exile in Radiance.
Draven, Fiora, Shen, Rengar, Vex and Evelynn are the other six, and Riot has already named more champions who will take the same path.
Which champions has Riot named for the next sets?
Riot named the first Legends of the two sets after Radiance in its plan of products and sets of 3 August 2026. For Legacy, the sixth set, dated 29 January 2027, Riot named Ashe, Garen, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Karma, Lux, Tryndamere and Vladimir, with four more still to be revealed. For The Reckoning, the seventh set, dated 30 April 2027, it named Aurelion Sol, Cho'Gath, Shyvana, Vayne and Zilean, again with four more to come.
Most of those champions are in Riftbound already. Ashe, Heimerdinger, Illaoi, Karma, Tryndamere, Vayne and Zilean have champion units and no Legend so far, while Garen and Lux lead two of the Proving Grounds decks. The row below shows the units of five of them: Tryndamere, Barbarian, Ashe, Focused, Illaoi, Prophet of the Great Kraken, Vayne, Hunter and Zilean, Time Mage.
Vladimir, Aurelion Sol, Cho'Gath and Shyvana have no Riftbound card at all up to Radiance, so these four Legends bring champions into the game who are entirely new to it.
Which League champions are not in Riftbound yet?
Close to 70 League champions have no Riftbound card up to Radiance. Some well-known names are among them: Thresh, Aatrox, Sylas, Viego, Pantheon, Veigar and Wukong have not appeared on a card so far.
Riot has not said when the rest will come. In the State of the Game of August 2026, Game Director Dave Guskin answered the question of when a favorite champion will arrive with "One day!" and said the team is always looking at how and when to bring the remaining champions into upcoming sets. He named three things a champion should fit: the theme of the set, the stories it lets the team tell and the mechanics of the set. In its plan of products and sets, Riot has also said that the eighth set, planned for the third quarter of 2027, takes place in Bandle City, the home of the Yordles, without naming its champions yet.
Where can you see every champion and their cards?
The champions page lists every champion in Riftbound in alphabetical order, with a search box and a filter for each region of Runeterra. Each champion has a page of their own that gathers their Legend, champion units and signature cards with a short account of who they are, as on the pages of Jinx and Ekko. The Legends page shows only the champions you can build a deck around, the newest set first.
The champions come from all over Runeterra, and Ionia, Demacia and Noxus have the most of them so far. The cards of one champion belong together through a shared champion tag. That tag decides which champion units a Legend can choose as its chosen champion and which signature cards its deck may hold, as the article on how a champion's Legend, units and signature cards fit together explains.
