Unleashed is the third main set of Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game. It carries the code UNL, and its cards are numbered from 001/219 to 219/219: 119 units, 54 spells, 19 gear, 15 battlefields and 12 Legends. The set gave players a resource they had never had before, XP, which builds up over a game and makes cards stronger as it grows.

Riot built Unleashed around the jungle of League of Legends and described it as a set about power that strikes from the shadows. Its cards reward patience: units hunt for XP, other cards wait for enough of it, and some units stay in hand until they can join a fight at the right moment. The monsters of the jungle turn up as units too, from Voracious Gromp to Baron Nashor.

When did Unleashed come out?

Unleashed came out in Simplified Chinese on 10 April 2026 and in English four weeks later, on 8 May 2026. Riot's preview season for Unleashed ran from 16 to 26 March 2026, and stores held the English Pre-Rift events from 1 May 2026, a week before the release. In French, Riot calls the set Déchaînement, and the French edition followed on 31 July 2026, as Riot's French roadmap sets out.

Which Legends and champions are in Unleashed?

Unleashed has twelve Legends, and each of them pairs a different two of the six domains. Riot named Master Yi, Diana, Vi and Pyke as the champions at the heart of the set. Eleven of the twelve Legends were the first Legend of their champion. The twelfth, Wuju Master, gave Master Yi a second Legend after Wuju Bladesman from Proving Grounds.

Unleashed also has 36 champion units for 24 champions. Twenty of those champions appear in Riftbound for the first time, among them Jhin, LeBlanc, Poppy, Ashe and Galio, while Vi, Vex, Rengar and Master Yi return from earlier sets. Each Legend has one signature card, such as Alpha Strike for Master Yi and Hextech Gauntlets, an Equipment for Vi.

What new mechanics did Unleashed bring?

Unleashed brought XP and the keywords that go with it. XP is a number each player gains and spends during a game. It is public, it stays with you from turn to turn, and the Core Rules set no limit on how much you can have (rules 728 to 733).

  • Hunt gives you XP when the unit conquers or holds a battlefield. Voracious Gromp has Hunt 3 and no other text.
  • Level switches on a piece of text while you have enough XP. Master Yi, Unstoppable costs 12 Energy, gets cheaper at Level 3, 6 and 11, and at Level 16 enemy spells and abilities cannot choose him.
  • Ambush lets you play a unit as a Reaction to a battlefield where you already have units. Inferna, a 2 Energy unit with Ambush and Assault 2, is the card Riot used to show it.

Three Uncommon units show how Hunt and Level work together. Scorchclaw, Mosstomper and Gustwalker each have Hunt 2 and a Level 3 text that gives them +1 Might and one more bonus: Scorchclaw enters ready, Mosstomper gets Deflect and Gustwalker gets Ganking.

Unleashed cards are also the first to print Backline, a keyword for units that are assigned combat damage last, such as LeBlanc, Everywhere at Once. Vendetta, the only set released since, adds no new XP card: its overnumbered Kha'Zix, Evolving Hunter prints the Unleashed card again. Ambush came back in Vendetta, and Radiance, with its release on 23 October 2026, has Ambush units too, such as Evelynn, Consuming.

What are the rarest cards in Unleashed?

Unleashed introduced the Ultimate rarity, the rarest printing in Riftbound. Its only Ultimate Rare is an overnumbered Baron Nashor at 238/219, which Riot puts in fewer than one pack in 1,000. Baron Nashor is a 12 Might unit that adds the Baron Pit battlefield token to the board as he is played and gives your other units +2 Might. Riot has said that not every set will have an Ultimate Rare.

Unleashed has more showcase printings on top of its 219 numbered cards. Eighteen overnumbered cards, from 220/219 to 237/219, show the twelve Legends and six Poros such as Pouty Poro. Each overnumbered Legend also comes in a printing signed by its artist, numbered 226* to 237*, such as Wuju Master at 231*/219. The 30 alternate art cards give new paintings to champion units and to the six big monsters of the set, among them Rift Herald and Elder Dragon.

Which products hold Unleashed cards?

Unleashed cards come in booster packs, two Champion Decks, a Vault and the kit of the Pre-Rift events.

  • An Unleashed booster pack holds 14 cards: seven Commons, three Uncommons, one foil, two cards that are Rare or rarer and one token or rune. A pack had a launch price of $4.99, and a booster display of 24 packs one of $119.99.
  • The Champion Decks of Vi and Vex had a launch price of $19.99 each. Each holds a ready-to-play deck of 56 cards and one booster pack. The Vi deck is Fury and Order with Piltover Enforcer as its Legend, and the Vex deck is Calm and Chaos with Gloomist, the Legend of Vex.
  • The Unleashed Vault, with a launch price of $34.99, is a storage box with six booster packs, 36 basic runes and three full art tokens. Unleashed was the first set with a Vault, and Vendetta has one too, while Radiance gets one with its release on 23 October 2026.
  • The Pre-Rift kit held five booster packs, a themed pack for one of six champions and a promo of Ashe, Focused with a Pre-Rift stamp.

A player who needs only a few Unleashed cards does not have to open packs. Single cards come from local game stores, from Cardmarket in Europe, from TCGplayer in the United States and from CardTrader on both sides.

Can you still play Unleashed cards?

Yes. The Tournament Rules of 9 October 2026 list Unleashed in Standard, the main tournament format, together with every other set from Origins to Radiance, which they list with its release date of 23 October 2026 (rule 601.3.c). Riot's Rules Hub adds that Riot intends to introduce rotation of legal sets in Standard starting in 2028.

A player who wants to try XP can start with the Vex Champion Deck. It holds XP cards such as Herald of Spring, Mosstomper and Wuju Apprentice, and its Legend can exhaust to draw a card when you hold a battlefield, which is easy to use from the first game.

Every card of the set is in the Unleashed card list, and the pack opener lets you open Unleashed packs for fun. Spiritforged, the set before Unleashed, brought Equipment, Gold and Repeat, and Vendetta, the set after it, brought Flow, Burn and Empower.
