Spiritforged is the second main set of Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game. It carries the code SFD, and its cards are numbered from 001/221 to 221/221. Riot built the set around weapons as part of who a champion is: in its story, as Riot's preview of the set puts it, the Ionian Spirit Blossom has lifted the veil between the mortal and spirit realms, and new weapons and armor have been forged for the moment. Irelia and her floating blades are on the key art and on the booster display.
Before Spiritforged, gear stayed in your base. Since Spiritforged, a sword or a shield can go into battle with a unit.
When did Spiritforged come out?
Spiritforged came out in English on 13 February 2026, and stores held Pre-Rift events in the week before. Riot revealed its cards in a preview season from 17 November to 3 December 2025, and the set came out in Simplified Chinese in December 2025, about two months before the English edition. French Spiritforged boosters followed on 31 July 2026, as Riot's French roadmap lists.
How many cards are in Spiritforged?
Spiritforged has 221 numbered cards, which Riot announced as 221 new cards. Each of the six domains has 30 of them, numbered in the order Fury, Calm, Mind, Body, Chaos and Order. The twelve Legends follow from 181, each with the signature cards of its champion right after it, and the fifteen battlefields close the set from 207 to 221.
| Card type | Cards |
|---|---|
| Units | 107 |
| Spells | 45 |
| Gear | 42 |
| Battlefields | 15 |
| Legends | 12 |
By rarity, the set has 60 Commons, 63 Uncommons, 60 Rares and 38 Epics. A token is numbered apart with a T and does not count in the 221, such as Gold at T03.
What new mechanics did Spiritforged bring?
Spiritforged brought three new ideas into the game: Equipment, Gold and Repeat. Its rules patch added the keywords Equip, Quick-Draw, Weaponmaster and Repeat to the Core Rules.
Equipment is gear that you attach to one of your units. You play it to your base, then pay its Equip cost, and the unit gets its Might bonus and its effect text. Long Sword gives +2 Might, and Blade of the Ruined King gives +4 Might for an Equip cost of one Order Power and one of your own units, which you kill. Quick-Draw, which Long Sword has, lets an Equipment be played as a Reaction and attach itself at once. A unit with Weaponmaster, such as Veteran Poro, lets you equip one of your Equipment to it for one Power less as you play it. Of the 42 gear cards in the set, 31 are Equipment.
Gold is a gear token. You can kill it and exhaust it as a Reaction to add one Power of any domain, so it stores a resource for a later turn. Seventeen Spiritforged cards make Gold, such as Plundering Poro, which plays a Gold when it conquers, and Trove Golem, an 8 Energy unit that plays four at once.
Repeat is an extra cost on a spell: if you pay it as you play the spell, the effect happens a second time. Desert's Call plays a 2 Might Sand Soldier for 2 Energy, or two of them when you also pay its Repeat cost of 2. Fourteen Spiritforged spells have Repeat.
Three Spiritforged cards have Unique, a deck rule that allows only one card of that name in a deck (Core Rules 825.3.a). They are the signature Equipment of Ornn, such as Forgefire Cape.
Which Legends and champions are in Spiritforged?
Spiritforged has twelve Legends, one each for Rumble, Lucian, Draven, Rek'Sai, Ornn, Jax, Irelia, Azir, Ezreal, Renata Glasc, Sivir and Fiora, and no two of them share a pair of domains. Ten of those champions came to Riftbound for the first time with this set. Draven and Fiora already had units in Origins and got their first Legend here.
- Blade Dancer (Irelia, Calm and Chaos) can exhaust when you choose one of your units and pay one Power to ready that unit.
- Fire Below the Mountain (Ornn, Calm and Mind) exhausts to add one Power of any domain that can only pay for gear or gear abilities.
- Emperor of the Sands (Azir, Calm and Order) gives your Sand Soldiers Weaponmaster.
- Glorious Executioner (Draven, Fury and Chaos) draws you a card whenever you win a combat.
The set has 36 champion units as well, and with them 22 champions reached Riftbound for the first time. Twelve of those have no Legend in the set, among them Jayce, Bard, Yone and Vex. Vex got her Legend later in Unleashed, and Jayce his in Vendetta. The champions page shows every champion with all of their cards.
Which products hold Spiritforged cards?
Spiritforged cards come in booster packs and booster displays, in two Champion Decks and in the kit of the Pre-Rift events.
- A Spiritforged booster pack holds 14 cards: seven Commons, three Uncommons, two foil cards that are Rare or rarer, one foil of any rarity and one card from the slot that Riot calls the token slot. A pack had a launch price of $4.99, and a booster display of 24 packs one of $119.99. Today a pack sells for $9.56 and a display for $173.34.
- The Champion Deck: Fiora is Body and Order, led by Grand Duelist, and turns ordinary units into Mighty ones with spells and ten Equipment.
- The Champion Deck: Rumble is Fury and Mind, led by Mechanized Menace, and is built around Mechs that make one another stronger.
Both Champion Decks hold 56 cards, as Riot's launch day announcement shows. The decks had a launch price of $19.99 each, and today the Fiora deck sells for $33.62 and the Rumble deck for $25.21. Riot's preview of the set said that the Pre-Rift kit held a Legend of the set and a champion unit with a promo stamp.
Single Spiritforged cards come from local game stores, from Cardmarket in Europe, from TCGplayer in the United States and from CardTrader on both sides of the Atlantic.
Which collector printings does Spiritforged have?
Spiritforged has 66 showcase printings on top of its 221 numbered cards.
- 24 alternate art cards, all of them champion units with a new painting, such as Irelia, Fervent at 057a/221.
- 30 overnumbered cards, from 222/221 to 251/221: the twelve Legends, such as Blade Dancer at 246/221, twelve champion units and the six Seals from Origins. Seven of those champion units are Origins cards, such as Ahri, Inquisitive at 227/221.
- 12 signed cards, one for each overnumbered champion unit, such as Ahri, Inquisitive at 227*/221.
Riot's page for the display says that a display holds more than six Epics and more than two alternate art cards on average. A showcase printing plays exactly like the standard card.
Can you still play Spiritforged cards?
Yes. The Tournament Rules of 9 October 2026 list Spiritforged in Standard, the main tournament format, together with Origins and its Proving Grounds cards, Unleashed, Vendetta and Radiance, with its release on 23 October 2026 (rule 601.3.c). Riot plans the first rotation for the start of 2028, when Origins and the four sets of 2026, Spiritforged among them, are to leave Standard.
Two Spiritforged cards are on Riot's banned list for Constructed, last updated on 18 September 2026: Draven, Vanquisher and the spell Called Shot. Riot banned both in its first bans, which took effect on 31 March 2026. In its State of the Game of 3 August 2026, Riot said that Draven had been powerful in a way that distorted play in the Spiritforged season. The same list leaves the Legend Glorious Executioner and the other Draven units legal.
A player who wants to try Equipment can start with the Fiora Champion Deck, which plays more gear than any other Champion Deck. Every card of the set is in the Spiritforged card list, and the pack opener lets you open Spiritforged packs for fun. Origins, the first set, came before Spiritforged on 31 October 2025, and Unleashed, the third set, followed it on 8 May 2026.
