Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game did not come out everywhere on the same day. It went on sale in mainland China first, where it is called 符文战场, and its English edition followed three months later. Since the English release, a new set has followed about every three months.

This article follows Riftbound from its first reveal to its newest set, with the Chinese and English release dates side by side, while the article on every Riftbound set covers what each set added to the game.

When did Riftbound first come out?

Riftbound first came out in mainland China on 1 August 2025, with its first set, Origins, in Simplified Chinese. Shining Soul publishes the game there in partnership with Riot Games. The English edition followed on 31 October 2025, when Origins went on sale on the same day in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania.

The English release brought a full range of products at once. Origins came in booster packs and in booster displays of 24 packs. The Proving Grounds starter box held four ready-made decks for Annie, Garen, Lux and Master Yi, and three Champion Decks were built around Jinx, Viktor and Lee Sin. Local game stores held their first Origins launch events on the same day. The products guide lists every product with its release date.

How long did Riftbound take from its first reveal to its release?

Riftbound took less than a year from its first reveal to its first release. Riot Games first showed the game in December 2024 under the working title Project K, and said then that it would come out in China first. On 24 February 2025, Riot named UVS Games as its publishing and distribution partner, to bring the game to English-speaking countries later that year. By the summer of 2025 the game had its final name, Riftbound, and its first set was called Origins.

In its overview of organized play of 28 July 2025, Riot said that after Origins, Riftbound would get four new sets in every calendar year. Spiritforged, the first of them, came out in English on 13 February 2026.

When did each Riftbound set come out?

Each main set of Riftbound has an English release date about three months after the set before it. The first three sets, Origins, Spiritforged and Unleashed, came out in Simplified Chinese before they came out in English. From Vendetta on, the Chinese and English editions of a set share one release date, and Radiance, the fifth set, has one release date for both editions as well.

Proving Grounds is not in the table because it is a starter box, not a main set. It came out in English together with Origins on 31 October 2025, and the 24 cards that are only in the box carry the code OGS.

Every release has also brought new Legends and ready-made decks. Blind Monk leads the Lee Sin Champion Deck of Origins, Grand Duelist the Fiora Champion Deck of Spiritforged, Piltover Enforcer the Vi Champion Deck of Unleashed and Master of Shadows the Zed deck of the Vendetta Showdown Decks. Boy Who Shattered Time from Radiance is the first Legend of Ekko.

Does China still get new Riftbound sets first?

No. Since Vendetta, the fourth set, the Simplified Chinese and English editions of a set come out on the same day. Unleashed was the last set that came out in China first: it went on sale there on 10 April 2026, four weeks before the English release on 8 May 2026. Vendetta came out in both languages on 31 July 2026, and Radiance shares one date in both languages as well, 23 October 2026.

Players can also try a new set in the week before its release, at Pre-Rift events in stores. The Pre-Rift events of Radiance are dated 16 to 22 October 2026. Each player there gets a kit with a small ready-made deck, five booster packs of Radiance and a promo card, and builds a Sealed deck from it.

When did Riftbound come out in other languages?

Of the languages Riftbound is printed in, French was the first after Simplified Chinese and English. French Origins booster packs, Origins Champion Decks and Proving Grounds came out on 29 May 2026, and Spiritforged and Unleashed followed in French on 31 July 2026. Vendetta and Radiance share a French release date of 23 October 2026, which makes Radiance the first set with its French, English and Chinese editions on the same day.

A Traditional Chinese edition for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau, published by Glorious Soul (HK) Limited, began with Origins in 2026. A Korean edition started with Origins on 18 September 2026.

When do the Riftbound sets after Radiance come out?

Legacy, the sixth set, is the next set after Radiance and is dated 29 January 2027, with Pre-Rift events from 22 to 28 January 2027. Riot describes it as the first Riftbound set designed with drafting in mind. The Reckoning, the seventh set, is dated 30 April 2027, and Riot plans an eighth set for the third quarter of 2027 and a ninth for the fourth quarter. A second edition of Proving Grounds is dated 19 February 2027.

The first anniversary of the English release falls on 31 October 2026, and Riot marks the first year of Riftbound with the Gift of the Rift Bundle, dated 4 December 2026, which holds booster packs from the first five sets. Every card of every set is in the card list, with a page for each set from Origins to Radiance, and the Radiance previews page shows the newest cards in the order they were revealed.
