Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game has official card sleeves and playmats of its own, made as a small collection for each set and sold in game stores beside the booster packs. A few bundles hold sleeves or a playmat as well, and some playmats are prizes at events.
None of them is needed to play. Champion Decks and Showdown Decks come with paper playmats, and any sleeves that meet the Tournament Rules are allowed at events, so the official ones are a matter of taste.
Which sets have their own sleeves and playmats?
Each of the four main sets released so far has art sleeves and playmats of its own, and Radiance, the fifth main set, with its release on 23 October 2026, will have a collection too. Origins, the first set, brought card sleeves and playmats with Ahri, Jinx, Miss Fortune and Volibear, four champions who each have a Legend in that set. UVS Games, which manufactures Riftbound under license from Riot, also made a collection of art sleeves and playmats for Spiritforged, Unleashed and Vendetta, and its retailer document for Radiance lists a collection of playmats and art sleeves among the products of that set.
Each collection is made for its set, so the designs change with every release. Local game stores, where most players get their Riftbound products, sell them beside the cards, and the Riot Merch Store also lists the Unleashed collection.
What are the Unleashed sleeves and playmats like?
The Unleashed collection, from the third set, has four designs, and each design comes both as a pack of sleeves and as a playmat. The art of the four designs is the art of the overnumbered printings of four Legends of Unleashed, showcase cards numbered above the size of the set: Keeper of the Hammer, the Legend of Poppy; Deceiver, the Legend of LeBlanc; Wuju Master, the Legend of Master Yi; and Piltover Enforcer, the Legend of Vi.
A pack of art sleeves holds 100 sleeves, enough for one full deck. Each playmat is made of neoprene with a bound edge and a rubber backing, and measures 24 by 14 inches (61 by 35.6 centimeters).
| Unleashed accessory | Designs | Pieces | Launch price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Art sleeves | 4 | 100 | $16.99 |
| Playmat | 4 | 1 | $27.99 |
Which bundles hold sleeves or a playmat?
Several bundles made for one occasion hold sleeves or a playmat among their contents.
- The Worlds Bundle 2025, with a launch price of $99.99, holds a foiled playmat with a matching deck box and card sleeves, beside its Panda Teemo promo, a new printing of Swift Scout. Riot sold it as a limited edition, and at market it sells for $1,088.15 today.
- The Lunar Revel Bundle 2026, with a launch price of $39.99 and in Simplified Chinese only, holds a pack of 70 sleeves and a playmat that matches its Mythmaker Irelia promo, an alternate art printing of Blade Dancer.
- The Secret Garden Bundle, with a launch price of $70, is sold at selected events and holds two packs of sleeves. At market it sells for $295.89 today.
- The T1 Worlds Champion Player Bundle, which Riot will sell later in 2026 through a drawing in its merch store at $70, holds a pack of sleeves, a deck box, a binder and a metal die beside its five T1 cards.
- The Gift of the Rift Bundle, with its release on 4 December 2026, holds 100 sleeves with the art of its alternate art promo of Rogue Assassin, the Legend of Akali, in the English edition. Riot had not announced its price by October 2026.
Which playmats can only be won at events?
Some playmats are prizes that players win rather than get in a box. A store that registers a Summoner Skirmish in time receives a prize kit that holds a Champion playmat for the winner of that event. The two Radiance windows, from 9 November to 13 December 2026 and from 14 December 2026 to 17 January 2027, follow the same pattern: the winner of each Skirmish takes home a Champion playmat.
The invitation-only Regional Championships of 2026 in Europe and North America, held from 6 to 8 November and from 11 to 13 December 2026, hand out more. Every qualified competitor gets a participation package with a commemorative playmat and a promo card, the Top 8 earn an additional exclusive playmat, and the champion gets a playmat and a promo of their own.
Which products come with a playmat?
The boxed ready-made decks come with playmats, so a first game needs no mat of your own. A Champion Deck holds one full-size paper playmat and a foldable paper deck box, and a Showdown Decks box holds two of each, one for every player. Proving Grounds holds four playmats, one for each of its four decks, and Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition, with its release on 19 February 2027, also holds four paper playmats.
A paper playmat is enough for the first games. A neoprene playmat lasts longer and gives the cards a smooth surface that protects them, which makes it the better choice for a player who plays every week.
Do you need official sleeves at a tournament?
No. The Tournament Rules allow any sleeves, official or not, as long as every sleeve in a deck is identical, every card sits in its sleeve the same way and the backs are opaque (rule 422). At Competitive and Professional events, such as a Summoner Skirmish, the Main Deck, the Rune Deck and the battlefields must be sleeved, and the sleeves may not have highly reflective backs or holographic patterns. At casual events such as Nexus Night, sleeves are optional unless the head judge asks for them.
A few details are worth knowing. The rules suggest, without requiring it, different sleeves for the Main Deck and the Rune Deck. A player may give the chosen champion a sleeve of its own during setup, but it has to go back into a Main Deck sleeve before it would go where the opponent cannot see it, such as the hand or the deck. A judge may refuse sleeves that are worn, marked or offensive. No rule asks for a playmat at all.
The sleeves and playmats in the products guide show every Unleashed design with its launch price, and the overnumbered cards page lists the cards whose art those designs borrow. A sleeved deck lasts far longer than a loose one, as the guide to protecting your cards explains, and sleeves, a pen and a deck box are the first things to pack for your first event.
