How long is a Riftbound product sold?

Riftbound products carry no end date. Riot has promised to keep the booster packs of a set available at least as long as the set is legal in Standard, which for every set from Origins to Radiance means until the start of 2028. Decks and starter boxes can be reprinted when needed, and collector sets are sold once.

The boxes of Riftbound: the League of Legends trading card game carry no end date, and Riot has not named a day on which any product leaves the shelves. How long a product stays around depends on what kind of product it is. In its State of the Game of 3 August 2026, Riot sorted its products into three groups: booster sets, ancillary products and collector's items. Each group comes with a different promise.

How long are the booster packs of a set sold?

Riot has promised to keep the booster packs of a set available for at least as long as the set is legal in Standard, the main tournament format. Chengran Chai, the executive producer of Riftbound, made that promise in the State of the Game of 3 August 2026, together with a plan to reprint the packs to meet demand.

No set has left Standard so far. Riot intends to start rotation in 2028, and its plan for organized play of 28 July 2025 has the first five sets leave Standard together at the start of 2028, when the tenth set comes out. The sets of 2027 follow at the start of 2029. Under that plan, the packs of every set from Origins to Radiance are meant to stay available until the start of 2028 at the least.

The Riftbound sets with their English release dates and the rotation Riot has planned for them. Riot means to keep the packs of each set available at least until the set leaves Standard.

Older packs also turn up in new products. The Gift of the Rift Bundle, with a release date of 4 December 2026, holds three booster packs each of Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed and Vendetta and four of Radiance. Riot has not said what happens to the packs of a set after it leaves Standard, but it plans a format without rotation for older sets, so the cards of an older set can still be played, as the article on whether older sets stay legal describes.

What happens when a product sells out after its release?

So far, the products that ran short in their first months, such as Origins and the Proving Grounds starter box, have come back in later print runs. Riot printed an extra run of Origins before its release, and in November 2025 it said it had misjudged how many players would want the set. In March 2026, Riot said that Origins boosters were going out in waves as each printing was finished, and that these reprints would not be the last. In May 2026, more than six months after the release of Origins, Riot's merch store still offered Origins displays in its drawing, next to those of Spiritforged and Unleashed.

The store counts in print runs too: it allows one booster display of a set per Riot ID in each print run, and the limit starts again with every new run. An empty shelf in the first weeks therefore says little about how long a product will be around, because Riot reprints its booster sets to meet demand. A product that is out of stock often sells above its launch price in the meantime. An Origins booster display, with a launch price of $119.99, sells for $221.90 today.

How long are decks and starter boxes sold?

Riot has given no date for these products. It calls a product made for a smaller part of the community an ancillary product, and the product its post names in that passage is Proving Grounds, the starter box, which it reprinted in response to high demand. Such products are sold in stores and can be reprinted when Riot sees the need, but they carry no promise tied to Standard. Riot has not said how long it keeps the Champion Decks, the Showdown Decks or the Vaults in print.

Proving Grounds came out with Origins on 31 October 2025 at a launch price of $29.99 and was soon missing from store shelves. In January 2026, Riot announced a reprint by a different printer, with a launch price of $39.99. It reached Canada, Australia and New Zealand by March 2026, and Riot scheduled it for Europe in April and the United States in May. A box of Proving Grounds sells for $53.13 today.

Players who wanted the decks felt the shortage too, because the 24 cards of the box were printed nowhere else at first. The Legends of the box, such as Dark Child and Might of Demacia, came back as foil Nexus Night promos in the Spiritforged season. For Flash, a Common Reaction spell that moves up to two friendly units to base, Riot sent stores a promo printing to hand out from late April 2026.

In its State of the Game, Riot also said that new Riftbound cards stay in booster packs and do not go into ancillary or collector's items. Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition, with its release on 19 February 2027, follows that rule: Riot's announcement of products and sets into 2027 says that it holds no card which cannot also be found in booster packs. Riot has not said whether the first box stays in stores once the second edition arrives.

Which Riftbound products are sold only once?

Bundles and box sets made as collector's items are sold once. Riot calls them limited editions that it will not reprint, and it named the Worlds Bundle 2025 and the T1 2025 Worlds Champion Signature Edition as examples. Riot made 10,125 English sets of the Signature Edition. Its merch store marks the Arcane Box Set as a limited edition too, and the Secret Garden Bundle is sold only at selected events, such as Gen Con 2026 and the Regional Qualifiers in Barcelona, Singapore and Los Angeles.

Once a collector's item is sold out, the only way to get one is from another owner, who sets the price. Today the Worlds Bundle 2025, with a launch price of $99.99, sells for $1,088.15, and the Signature Edition, with a launch price of $360, sells for $8,500.

For a player that matters less than it seems. The special printings in these boxes play exactly like the card of the same name from a set, and the new cards of a set come in its booster packs, so a player who wants to play a card, not to own that printing, can use the regular card. Single cards come from local game stores, from Cardmarket in Europe, from TCGplayer in the United States and from CardTrader on both sides of the Atlantic.

Which products are around for one week only?

A Pre-Rift kit is made for the Pre-Rift events that stores hold in the week before a set comes out, and Riot does not sell it on its own. Each player at the event gets one, with a small ready-made deck, five booster packs of the new set and a promo card. A player who wants the kit of a set needs a seat at a Pre-Rift event in that week. The Pre-Rift events of Radiance are set for 16 to 22 October 2026.

What does this mean when you plan what to get?

For booster packs, there is little reason to hurry. The packs of every set from Origins to Radiance are meant to stay available until the start of 2028 at the least, and Origins, which was hard to find in its first months, came back in later print runs. Waiting for the next print run is often better than paying far above the launch price in the first weeks after a release.

A ready-made deck or a starter box has no promised date, so a deck you want is safest to get while it is in stores. A collector's item is sold once, with no second chance.

The products guide shows every product with its release date and launch price. If a deck you want has already left the shelves, the article on where Riftbound products are sold lists the stores, drawings and marketplaces to look at.

Prices marked with a dot are live market prices.
